MGM Invitational ’26 — Day 2

Twenty-four hours earlier, Net Dominators had finished bottom of Group B. Played three, lost three, no wins, last place. On Day 1 they were the side you mentioned in passing — the hard-luck team, beaten twice by a single game, out of the conversation.
On Day 2 they won the MGM Invitational ’26.
Not quietly, either. To lift the title they beat the winners of Group A, then the only unbeaten team in the competition, then the side that had knocked out the group stage’s form team. Three matches, three of the highest seeds left in the draw, and not one of them went the distance against them.
The knockout rounds were played as a straight eight-team bracket, the top four from each group crossing over — Group A’s winner against Group B’s fourth seed, and so on down. Here is how the day went.

Four matches, and only one of them close.
| # | TEAM | SCORE | TEAM |
|---|---|---|---|
| QF1 | Net Dominators | 8 – 5 | Lords |
| QF2 | Padel Titans | 8 – 1 | Team Jazz |
| QF3 | Team HS | 8 – 4 | Team Pirzada |
| QF4 | Gladiators | 8 – 2 | Khakwani |
The first upset of the day was also the first match of the day. Lords had topped Group A — three wins, the best record in the group — and they were beaten 8–5 by the side that had finished last in Group B. It was the only quarter-final that stayed competitive into the closing stages, and it was the one the seedings said should not have been close at all.
Everywhere else the bracket held. Padel Titans continued exactly as they had on Day 1, dismissing Team Jazz 8–1 and conceding a single game in the process. Team HS handled Team Pirzada 8–4. Gladiators — third in Group A despite carrying the best game difference in it — finally got the result their Day 1 performances deserved, beating Khakwani 8–2.

One shock, and the tightest match of the tournament.
| # | TEAM | SCORE | TEAM |
|---|---|---|---|
| SF1 | Net Dominators | 6–4, 6–4 | Padel Titans |
| SF2 | Team HS | 7 – 6 | Gladiators |
Padel Titans arrived at the semi-final as the tournament’s benchmark side. Three group wins from three, never below five games in any of them, seven games conceded across the entire group stage, and an 8–1 quarter-final. No team had taken them to a decider.
Net Dominators beat them twice in a row, 6–4 and 6–4. The same scoreline, back to back — which tells you it was not a collapse. The Titans were still there in both, four games each time, and each time Net Dominators found the last two.
The pair had met on Day 1, when Padel Titans held on 5–4. That one-game margin, filed away as the Titans’ only scare of the group stage, reads very differently now.
The other semi-final was the closest match of the whole tournament. Team HS beat Gladiators 7–6 — one game in it, after two days in which Gladiators had done almost everything but win the matches that counted. They finished the group stage third on wins with the best game difference in Group A, came through their quarter-final 8–2, and went out of the competition by a single game. It is the second time in two days that the scoreboard has been unkind to them.
For Team HS, it was a fourth win in five knockout and group matches spread across two days, and a place in the final that nobody watching Day 1 would have confidently predicted.
Group B’s bottom seed against Group A’s runner-up.
| TEAM | SCORE | TEAM |
|---|---|---|
| Net Dominators | 6–4, 4–0 | Team HS |
Team HS stayed with them for the first set. Six games to four, the same margin Padel Titans had managed in the semi-final, and at that point the final was live.
The second set was 4–0. Net Dominators did not concede a single game to close out the tournament — the only shutout set of the knockout stage, and the most emphatic passage of padel played across either day.
MGM INVITATIONAL ’26 CHAMPIONS Net Dominators Fourth in Group B · Lost all three group matches · Won all three knockout ties |

Set the two days side by side and the Net Dominators run is the most unusual thing either day produced.
| ROUND | OPPONENT | SCORE | RESULT |
|---|---|---|---|
| Group B | Padel Titans | 4 – 5 | Lost |
| Group B | Khakwani | 1 – 5 | Lost |
| Group B | Team Pirzada | 4 – 5 | Lost |
| Quarter-final | Lords (Group A winners) | 8 – 5 | Won |
| Semi-final | Padel Titans (Group B winners) | 6–4, 6–4 | Won |
| Final | Team HS (Group A runners-up) | 6–4, 4–0 | Won |
Three defeats, then three wins. And the three wins came against the top seed of their own group, the top seed of the other group, and that group’s runner-up. There was no easy half of the draw for them — they beat everyone the bracket could have asked them to beat.
The Day 1 record deserves a second look too. Two of those three group defeats were by a single game, both 4–5. Net Dominators were never a weak team having a good day; they were a strong team that spent the first day on the wrong side of two tight ones. The table said last place. The margins said otherwise, and the knockout rounds proved it.
| POSITION | TEAM | GROUP SEED |
|---|---|---|
| Champions | Net Dominators | Group B, 4th |
| Runners-up | Team HS | Group A, 2nd |
| Semi-finalists | Padel Titans | Group B, 1st |
| Semi-finalists | Gladiators | Group A, 3rd |
| Quarter-finalists | Lords | Group A, 1st |
| Quarter-finalists | Khakwani | Group B, 2nd |
| Quarter-finalists | Team Pirzada | Group B, 3rd |
| Quarter-finalists | Team Jazz | Group A, 4th |
| Group stage | Team Uchiha | Group A, 5th |

Two days, nine teams, twenty-three matches, and a champion nobody would have named at the end of Day 1.
That is the argument for running a knockout stage rather than crowning the best group record. On Day 1 the tables told a clear story: Padel Titans were the class of the field and Lords and Team HS were the teams to beat in Group A. All three of them went out to a side that had not won a match.
It is the third tournament HAAF Group has hosted at Padel Edge, and the closest of the three. Five of Day 1’s sixteen group matches were decided by a single game; on Day 2, the semi-final between Team HS and Gladiators went the same way. The standard in Multan has moved quickly, and the gap between first and last in this field turned out to be a good deal narrower than the group tables suggested.
Congratulations to Net Dominators, to Team HS on reaching the final, and to every side that played across the two days.
